Last week, I did the most fabulous Food photo shoot for the Naked Marshmallow Company. They wanted their new Christmas collection photographed so I arranged the whole photo shoot which I did at my home studio in East London's Shoreditch.
Arranging the prop styling and hiring myself, as well as the sourcing of ingredients, I set up the studio for lifestyle and pack shot photography, as the client wanted both. Over the course of 4 days, I shot not only the Christmas limited edition but also their whole range of products and kits which they sell in boxes on their website.
It was a really fun shoot, and I especially enjoyed shooting the Christmas collection, creating a whole little universe for each flavour, which entailed a lot of styling. I have almost always done my own Food Styling and this is something which I think is such an important part of the photographs, that I like to be involved with it as much as possible. On this occasion, I used some of the props hired from the Topham Street prop shop as well as my own. Over the past years I have been accumulating a vast collection of crockery, glasses, cutlery and linen, buying them here and there whenever something catches my eye. I also have an extensive array of Christmas decorations, which made it really nice to play around with the different images.
Coming back to the photo shoot for the Naked Marshmallow Company, they had developed some really special flavours for Christmas: mint & chocolate chips, candy cane, humbug, gingerbread and my personal favourite, s'mores. The hot chocolate kits with marshmallow toppers were really cute and great to shoot too. You can see some of the pictures on my Food Portfolio page and on my Instagram.
